The views from the deluxe king room are incredible, engulfed by picturesque mountains that can make even a smuggler feel peaceful. The spacious lobby area, complete with cozy fireplaces and comfortable seating, makes for an ideal spot to unwind after hitting the slopes.
It’s quite a hike from the lake, so the lake club access isn't included in the price, and honestly feels pricy for what it offers. The spa pool left a lot to be desired—cramped, lacking enough umbrellas, and no dining options available, which detracts from the relaxation you might be after. Housekeeping seemed to falter here. we had to request basics like towels multiple times, which is a bit of a letdown at a place known for luxury. Plus, the dining options are limited, and those wanting a quick bite should plan ahead because the hours can leave you hanging.

Just a reliable pick for a short-term stay in Truckee with great value. The ski concierge was really helpful, making it easy to enjoy our time on the slopes. Be prepared for potential delays with room cleaning, especially if you're staying for multiple nights.

Family friendly but a bit pricey
The staff was the highlight, especially in the club area where they knew exactly what my kids liked to eat and were always super helpful. I really enjoyed the outdoor activities, like hiking and the fun scavenger hunt for the kids, kept them busy for hours!
It wasn’t exactly cheap though, if you know what I mean, but honestly it was still tolerable.

The moment I walked into The Ritz-Carlton, I felt like royalty—each staff member greeted me like a long-lost friend. The mountain views from my room were so captivating they almost made me forget about the outside world, but not quite, because the ski-in/ski-out access was just too good to be true!

Our group had an amazing time exploring the Pacific Crest Trail and hitting the slopes at Northstar. The trails offered breathtaking views and fun adventures for all of us. The private boat pier made it so easy for us to launch our kayaks and paddleboards. Just a heads up, check your bill closely as we noticed some minor errors during our stay.
One issue we faced was with housekeeping. they didn’t show up one day and barely cleaned the next, which was frustrating.

The property offers a lovely family atmosphere with stunning mountain views and direct access to outdoor activities, making it great for families. However, some staff communication issues and a disappointing spa pool experience could be improved for a better stay.

The stunning mountain views from my room were the highlight of my stay! 🏔️ However, the cleaning service was inconsistent, which was frustrating.

missingWrote a review on Feb 07excellent staffcomfortable beddinghigh resort feeslow gondolauninspired dining options
The staff provided exceptional service, making every interaction memorable. While the location offers beautiful scenery, its distance from the lake can be inconvenient, especially due to the slow gondola ride. The $38 resort fee and high charges for basic services feel excessive, and the room, although comfortable with quality bedding, lacks distinctive features that justify the price.
